We are committed to creating an impactful, hands-on experience where every student plays an important role in bringing the production to life.

What Your Student Will Experience

Dive into the world of live theatre and discover the power of storytelling on stage. Our Stage Acting course is a two-semester length program designed to help students grow in confidence, creativity, and performance skills—culminating in a final presentation of James and the Voice. Each session is structured with a time of devotion, tailored for age appropriate discussion of Christ in the arts and how He has called us to steward our talents, using them to inspire other in their walk with God. 

Ages 8–12 (Ensemble Focus)
Students in this group focus on ensemble roles, learning teamwork, stage basics, and building confidence through group performance.

Ages 13–18 (Ensemble & Lead Roles)
Students take on both ensemble and lead roles, with deeper training in character work, stage technique, and performance responsibility.

What Tuition Includes

Students in our Stage Acting course gain hands-on experience  and build a strong acting foundations through:

  • Movement and stage presence

Your student’s tuition covers:
  • Weekly instruction from professional artists
  • Costumes
  • Scripts & binder
  • Participation in the final production--All students will participate in a live presentation of James and the Voice, giving them the opportunity to showcase their growth and hard work.

 Materials Fee:
$50 annually
Covers costume materials, supplies, and production needs for the final showcase.
*Students enrolling in Stage Acting are expected to commit to the full academic year, including both 1st and 2nd semesters. This year-long structure is essential for skill development, ensemble building, and the rehearsal process leading to the final production. Participation in both semesters ensures that students are fully prepared to contribute to and perform in the culminating performance experience.

Thursdays | 4:00–5:15 PM | Ages 8–12 (Ensemble Focus)
.Fall Semester: August 6 – November 19, 2026: Technical and practical hands on learning
Spring Semester: January 7 – April 9: Preparing and real world application 
Final Theatre Presentation James and the Voice: April 10
Please note:  Classes follow the Chandler Unified School District calendar and will not meet on holidays or during scheduled school breaks.
*Additional rehearsal days may be scheduled during the final two months leading up to the Presentation with advanced notice.

Meet the team

Jacob Swerbensky

Instructor 
Jacob Swerbensky is excited to be returning to be the acting instructor for imaginations. He has been a part of a multitude of productions, ranging from acting and stage play, to running the show behind the scenes. He is very excited to be able to raise up this class of actors to be able to use their talents for the Lord.  

Hannah Larum

Excutive Director and Asst. Instructor
Hannah Larum is a professional actress, choreographer, dancer, voice artist, and director with a passion for storytelling that transcends barriers and resonates deeply with audiences. Since 2009, she has worked in community and national theatre and film, with extensive classical training across acting, voice, movement, and production disciplines. As Executive and Creative Director of StoryTellers United Academy, she draws on her diverse expertise to craft immersive, high-quality experiences that cultivate excellence, creativity, and artistic growth in the next generation.
